Privacy Policy

Balogale Store ("we", "us") is the responsible party for the personal information you share with us through balogale.co.za. We're committed to handling your data lawfully and transparently in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

If you have a privacy question or want to exercise any of your rights below, email sales@balogale.co.za.

• Identity & contact: name, email, phone number, delivery address.
• Order data: products ordered, quantities, order history, delivery preference.
• Account data: if you sign in with Supabase — authentication identifiers and a saved delivery address (only when you opt in).
• Payment data: invoice status, payment status and payment notes needed to manage B2B credit orders. We do not collect or store card details on our servers.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser details, and basic analytics needed to run and secure the site.

• To process orders, arrange delivery and provide customer support.
• To manage invoices, payment status and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To operate your account and save your address if you ask us to.
• To comply with tax, accounting and consumer-protection obligations.
• To respond when you contact us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp.

We share the minimum information needed with trusted third-party processors who help us run the store:

• Supabase — to handle account sign-in, sessions and order records.
• Resend — to send order confirmations and invoice-related emails.
• Sanity — to store and manage product catalogue content.
• Delivery partners — only the name, address and phone number required to complete your delivery.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by South African law or by a lawful request from a regulator or court.

• Order and invoice records: kept for at least 5 years to meet tax and accounting rules.
• Account data: kept while your account is active; removed on request unless we need it for legal reasons.
• Marketing consent (if given): kept until you opt out.

You have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you.
• Request a correction or deletion of your information.
• Object to us processing your information, including for direct marketing.
• Withdraw consent at any time where we relied on your consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator if you feel your rights have been infringed.

• All traffic is encrypted over HTTPS.
• No card payment is taken at checkout, and we do not store card numbers.
• Checkout submissions are origin-checked and rate-limited to reduce automated abuse.
• Access to the backend is restricted to staff who need it to run the store.

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and secure the checkout. We don't use cross-site advertising cookies. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser, but some parts of the site won't work without them.
